Cocoon Air
Does your property suffer from
- condensation
- mould
- damp
- excessive humidity
- poor air quality
The cocoon air heat recovery ventilation systems are designed to combat condensation and mould growth problems associated with modern draught proofing, sealed windows, poorly installed insulation and excessive moisture content in our homes.
Condensation
Condensation occurs naturally in our homes but, without correct ventilation and heating, can become an unhealthy nuisance bringing misery to occupants and even threatening the fabric of buildings. The cocoon air systems eradicate condensation by removing moisture-laden air and replacing it with warmed, fresh air.
Mould

Mould growth in our homes is an intolerable hazard that not only looks unsightly but can cause serious health issues. Mould allergies are very common. In fact, they’re more common than pollen allergies. The cocoon air systems extract air-bourne mould spores naturally and prevent the conditions that encourage their growth.
Poor air quality
Modern homes have become more sealed against draughts so that smells created by cooking, pets and smoking are not easily dissipated and linger and can cause headaches and illness. The coocon air systems extract stale air and replace it with fresh air drawn from the outside providing a much improved environment.
Allergies

Asthma sufferers and those effected by allergies find modern homes can be havens for dust particles, certain gases, house dust mites and various household pollutants that worsen their conditions. Controlling the air quality in your home is the first step towards helping to reduce allergy (and asthma) symptoms. Our fresh air systems significantly remove these elements from the air in our homes and provide environments that help to alleviate these ailments. By keeping temperatures and humidity levels optimum, dust mites stay in hibernation so do not add to air-bourne pollutants. For our page about Asthma and allergies please click here.
Traditional ventilation wastes energy and is costly
In the past advice regarding condensation and poor air quality has always included turning up heating and opening windows or installing extraction ventilators. With new building regulations coming into force September 2011 these traditional solutions will be environmentally inappropriate and could tip low income tenants into fuel poverty. Also, with the introduction of the Government’s target to reduce carbon emissions the demand for energy saving and sustainable ventilation products is significantly increasing.
TTW System
The Solution
cocoon air comprises systems (pictured here is our most-installed, one-room unit) that have revolutionised the way we think of ventilation and heating. Before these units were invented, the only way to eradicate condensation and mould growth problems was to open windows, turn heating up and use extractor fans resulting in excessive fuel bills and insecure homes. The heat recovery ventilators we install are unique in that they not only reduce humidity to optimum levels but they also eradicate condensation, prohibit mould growth and discourage the spread of bacteria, viruses and dust mite activity.
This is achieved by a patent-protected design that includes two fans, one to draw moisture-laden or poor quality air out and one to bring fresh, warmed air in without using electricity excessively; unlike traditional methods of extraction and dehumidifying.
Helping to control the symptons of asthma and allergies
Asthma affects over 5 million people in the UK alone and many live in homes with poor indoor air quality which exacerbates the condition. Our systems can help to improve the lives of sufferers.
1 in 3 of the UK population are affected by allergies at some point in their lives. Allergy UK is the country’s leading medical charity dealing with allergy. Cocoon is delighted to support the charities Allergy UK and Asthma UK and a proportion of our profits goes towards helping raise awareness and fund valuable research into both conditions.

Who we are
Cocoon are an independent property consultancy firm that have been trading since 1999. We are vastly experienced in property maintenance, refurbishment, new build and conversions and have a dedicated team with specific skills solely geared toward remedial works for condensation and damp. We provide a complete service from survey through supply and fit to ongoing servicing. Unlike other firms we are not a franchise and we do not usually supply ventilation units to other contractors or individuals for their own installations as we believe that only comprehensive surveys by trained, experienced professionals can determine what solution is best to permanently solve damp problems and guarantee improved air quality.
